Vox Squad / We Are Fantastic

Daniel Poppick, Vox Squad

An awkward box-set on a neighborhood parole. D-Pop’s bratpack of sonnets beat around the block. He wrings tercets and quatrains from diary rain – wet refrains wax and swan. The backgrounds, layered and strolling, stringed trinkets, jangling paint. Say hey there’s a rainbow rock n’ roll van. So the cops are confounded and the colors are wrong. Royal pain – sine qua non.

Thea Brown, We Are Fantastic

Fast blinking ants. Pep for spectral critters prone to fretting episodes. I can’t but feel my fillings riddled w/ her pretty brilliant threats. The philosopher-poet’s killer metal detector. Everything pings. See me, in a perfect meadow of hotel bedding, wired for the worst. All signs pointing, poignant, lightning.

I'm Your Huckleberry

Erika Jo Brown, I'm Your Huckleberry
Brooklyn Arts Press

How now, chow-hounds. Here’s a splendid kitchenette over- grown w/ innuendo. You and I, chuckle and futz, JK and touché. Like pronoun poutine: we’re a wonder of correspondent squishes. Dueling dishes. The tone switches willy-nilly, room to room, a little touching then much-too-much, poopy shmoopy then pie-in-the-sky. I’m feeling upholstered and swollen w/ luminous bits, bites of “light verse.” She's alliterating vees, cycling-bi, her heart a bajillion kerblooms!

Nadaísta

Amílkar U., Nadaísta
Trans. by Camilo Roldán

Nor torsos. Here were the words dark matter. Ritual archeology – delve into an alternate university’s torture workshop. Nobody studies (studies of nobodies). Witness ourselves these carcasses in livid vivisection. Candlelit gallery, stained glass, discarded harpsichord, gory furniture. And stanzas amass that languish withstanding.

Drinking with Matthew

Eric Gelsinger, Drinking with Matthew

What did the mystic say to his shrink? Listen to this misfortunate bliss. My personal man party, dick jokes and poker, art and sports (sparts!), fandemonium, a million yuks. The thinking instills intimate bullshit from a deep, drunk, middle-class childhood. Ball pit, roller rink, dirty feeling. Money humiliates all of us assholes. Keeping it real: I could pee an eternity.
